The ‘Silene II’ Vase in Britannia silver
The ‘Silene II’ Vessel is the second piece in an ongoing series of vessels inspired by the delicate seed head of the Red Campion (Silene dioica).
Handcrafted in Britannia silver, the vessel is formed from flat sheet using traditional hammering techniques that have been practiced for millennia. Once the shape is complete, it is filled with pitch and the surface is chased in deep relief using fine steel punches, creating a rich, tactile texture that catches the light.
Standing approximately 120 mm high × 80 mm in diameter, this sculptural form echoes the unfurling petals of a campion seed pod. It can be enjoyed as a standalone art piece or used as a vase for a small posy of garden flowers.
Each vessel s is individually handmade in Cornwall, meaning no two are ever the same — subtle variations are part of their unique character and charm.
