.

The ‘Penwith’ Jug is made by seaming and then hammer forming the the shape using traditional hammer forming techniques. Once the jug shape is complete the vessel is filled with a pitch substance and the pattern is chased into the surface using small punches.

.

The design on the jug represents the windswept hedgerows of the peninsula of Penwith in Cornwall, the directional texture marks evocative of the twisting and elemental landscape. The jug would be lovely to hold milk for tea, water for your whiskey or as a vase for a posy of flowers from the garden.
